So its been awhile since I have blogged.
Life has been busy, we went to Hawaii for Christmas, oh it was heaven there. We tried AI ing Rosie again last month but it was a no go , so we plan on driving her down to Florida to the stud to get a live breeding, Riley our newest boy, boy has he grown, almost 7 months and already 21 1/2 inches. Next month we have a new boy, a red tri coming home. We plan on keeping a female pup for show/breeding out of Remy and Ella , her next litter. Kids sports are starting again. It will be good to get lots of outside time after this winter. I hope everyone is well. Its late and I should be in bed.

Well we had an x-ray done and Rosie is not pregnant, she has put on a few pounds due to eating ( stealing) cat food. I am a bit disappointed but we will just plan a rebreeding on her next heat.
So Rosie has officially been IA'd Aug. 7th.
We are looking forward to a nice litter . We are also looking forward in adding a new pup. I will be flying out to Florida in November to pick him up. It will be a black tri boy, so crossing all fingers Ellie the mom will have a nice tri boy for me. We will be showing him in UKC next year. In the near future we plan a trip to Hawaii for Christmas , so much to look forward too. Where has the time gone. Boy am I going to miss them.
I am anxious to get new pictures of them in their new homes. Rosie will be getting bred soon, still have to decide who is going to be the daddy. Looks like we will hopefully be adding a new aussie boy this fall,( once the breeding takes place) he will have awesome working lines behind him. I am very excited about this breeding. I have thought long and hard and it looks like I will be not breeding schnauzers anymore with the exception of the ones I co-own. Myself I will concentrate on the aussies in my home. It was a hard decision. I got a devastating phone call. My dear friend Lisa Wagner passed away during the night. She had taught me so much about the aussies and the lines/genetics. I had just spoken to her on Thursday.
I am still in shock, I can't believe she is gone. I will truly miss her. She was a good friend.. She will be missed by many. I can't believe they are 5 weeks old today. They are now officially in the family room. I miss having them in the livingroom but they are getting active and need more space. I attached an x-pen to their puppy pen. Oh they love it.
They are eating good, about 3 cups a day split into 3 meals. Rosie goes this week for her OFA, crossing fingers all goes well, it should , I don't foresee any problems. Emitt goes in to be neutered. My 2 schnauzer foster girls go to the ophthalmologist to have their eyes checked as they have juvenile cataracts, sad as they are only 3 years old and have limited vision. Jasper the schnoodle goes in for his thyroid check up also this week. Going to be a busy week with all this running around I have to do Pups are growing so fast. I am so enjoying them, they make me laugh all the time, they are so comical.
We started Rosie's health testing all should go well. She had so much fun at the dog show on Sunday when we went to watch friends show. Hoping to get Lilly out by June in the ring. I'm still working allot, took the weekend off though as Tony and I just celebrated our 17th anniversary. Well not a whole lot going on. Well the pups are now 2 weeks old and so fat, they have more than doubled their size. Their eyes just opened with the exception of 2 theirs just starting to crack open.
Work has been crazy everyone wants their dogs groomed now that it has warmed up. I plan on putting up new horse fencing for the miniature horses, give them a bit more pasture to munch on. well I guess thats it for today I am exhausted . Time to go cuddle with my sweet pups. Work has been busy , busy with the rescue too. Nick my son started baseball season already.
I am excited about our newest litter Ella had, 4 girls and 2 boys. She had 2 black bi's, 2 black tri's, a blue merle and a red merle. They were born March 26th. A few weeks ago I got a phone call, thought it was someone wanting to surrender ,a mini schnauzer well long story short it was this cute red tri boy, poor dog has been through so much and she was feeding into his insecurities and he became over protective of her and started nipping everyone. Well he is here and here to stay. Heres a pictures of the little guy. Its been a busy week. worked Monday, Tuesday went over to Abigail's to help her with Arwen as she had gone into labor.. it was a long day and exhausting for Arwen but she gave us 5 beautiful pups. She gave us 2 salt and pepper females , 2 black and silver males and a salt and pepper male.
Wednesday Pam and I went to Vermont and brought my new boy home ( Cowboy ) also brought home Melody that i will be free leasing from Brenda.. hope to have them both inthe show ring this spring. Worked the store on Thursday, groomed all day today and have to groom tomorrow am. I am pooped . |
